Flight vintage mid-century modern black and white etching by Colorado Springs artist, Mary Chenoweth. This abstract expressionist composition, likely created during the 1950s, is pencil signed by the artist, titled and editioned '3/5' (number 3 in an edition of 5) in the lower margin. From Chenoweth's "Flight" series. Presented in a custom wood frame with an 8 ply archival mat and UV70 protectant glass.

Artist Biography - Mary Chenoweth (1918-1999)
Graduated from Denver University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1950. While at Denver University, she studied under Vance Kirkland. Chenoweth went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Illinois. Following her return to Colorado, she taught at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center (formerly the Broadmoor Academy). Chenoweth later joined the faculty at Colorado College where she served as an art professor for three decades. Chenoweth worked in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, drawing and printmaking. She carved a set of doors for the Colorado College Bemis Art School.
