Artist Biography - Willard Nash (1898-1942)

A native of Pennsylvania, Willard Nash studied in Detroit with John P. Wicker; in Santa Fe, New Mexico with Andrew Dasburg, circa 1922-28. Taught: Broadmoor Art Academy, 1931 (summer); San Francisco Art School; Art Center School, Los Angeles. Member of Cinco Pintores group in Santa Fe, (formed in 1921). Exhibitions: Los Angeles County Museum, 1923; Museum of New Mexico, 1929; Broadmoor Art Academy, 1931 (one man); Whitney Museum of American Art, 1932, 37; Hollywood, CA, 1937. Work in collections of Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of New Mexico, Santa Fe, NM; University Museum of New Mexico, Albuquerque, NM; Los Angeles County Museum; Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center; The Anschutz collection and private collections.
