About the Artist
A native of Germany, Pogzeba immigrated with his family to the United States where they settled in Denver, Colorado in 1950. He attended the Colorado School of Mines where he studied engineering and earned a BA in Fine Arts as well as a Master's in Education from the University of Colorado.
He eventually settled in Taos, New Mexico where he continued to produce his own art as well as leading the restoration of the Church of San Francisco de Asis in Rancho de Taos.
Pogzeba's career was cut short when he perished in a plane accident near Taos in 1982.
