About the Artist

Born in Topeka, Kansas, in 1894, Pauline Haynes Shirer (Laura Pauline Hayes) studied at the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts with Frank Alvah Parson from 1913-14. She taught at Washburn College, Kansas State Teachers College and at the New York School of Fine and Applied Arts.
