American Southeast includes all or part of present-day states of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana and Eastern Texas.  Native American Indian tribes associated with the Southeastern culture area include the Mississippian/Mound Builder, Seminole, Southeastern, Creek, and Cherokee.
