The Great Basin or Transmontane Culture Area includes all of present-day Nevada and portions of the surrounding states of Arizona, Utah, California, Oregon, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana & Colorado.  Native American Indian tribes associated with the Great Basin region include the Kawaiisu, Paiute, Flathead, Panamint, Shoshone, Ute, and Washoe.
