About the Artist

Born in Idaho in 1914, Frank Train attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. In 1935, it was noted in a yearbook that he was a talented cartoonist and was employed the Walt Disney Studio. He attended the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and took lessons from cartoonist, Billy Hon.
he worked as an artist, possibly as a cartoonist for the film industry. After WWII, he settled in Colorado Springs where he actively painted and exhibited during the 1950s and 1960s.
He later settled in Kauai where he and his second wife, Elise, also an artist from Colorado Springs, established the Spouting Horn Studio.
